I understand that mealtime can be incredibly difficult for those who struggle with disordered eating patterns. I also believe that nourishing the body is essential to healing the mind and spirit. To support recovery in all areas, I offer meal support therapy on an as-needed basis for my individual therapy clients.
Meal support therapy is effective to support healthy eating patterns, reinforce nutritional goals, and approaching “fear foods” or feared places. Meal support therapy incorporates exposure-based therapy in real-life situations. The goals of meal support therapy are determined as part of the individual therapy treatment plan, and I often collaborate closely with your nutritionist when incorporating this service into treatment. Meal support therapy includes processing goals and potential difficulties before and after the meal, as well as guidance and encouragement that may be needed during the meal.
